Thomson Geer has advised Gamuda Australia on its successful bid with consortium partner Laing O’Rourke for a $2.16 billion contract to deliver a major tunnels and civils package for the Sydney Metro West project.
Thomson Geer advised and supported Gamuda Australia on all of the contract documentation issued by Sydney Metro for the Project.
The Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package (WTP) is the second major tunnelling package awarded on the city-shaping project and includes delivery of nine kilometres of twin metro rail tunnels between Sydney Olympic Park and Westmead.
The Thomson Geer team was led by Construction and Infrastructure Partner Franco Aversa, who said it was great to have been able to play a key role supporting Gamuda Australia on such a transformative Australian infrastructure project.
“We’re pleased to have been able to support Gamuda Australia in winning the right to deliver such an important piece of infrastructure that will benefit Sydney residents,” he said.
Sydney Metro West is a once-in-a-century infrastructure investment by the NSW Government that will transform Sydney for generations to come. The new 24km metro line with 10 new stations will connect Greater Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.
The Thomson Geer team included Franco Aversa, Geoff Wood, Helen Jin, Catherine Gu, Josh Marchant and India Mauritzen.
