June 8, 2022

Thomson Geer is pleased to congratulate Southern Palladium Ltd on its successful dual listing on the Australian Securities Exchange and Johannesburg Stock Exchange after an oversubscribed A$19 million initial public offering.

Partner Sanushka Seomangal said: “We’re thrilled to have supported Southern Palladium in achieving this milestone, which was a complex legal and commercial undertaking across both jurisdictions for the company.”

Sanushka also led the Thomson Geer team that advised on the recent Chrysos Corporation IPO that raised A$183.5 million, Australia’s largest IPO for 2022 to date.

Thomson Geer advised Southern Palladium on the Australian legal aspects of its dual listing on the ASX and JSE, one of only a few companies to be listed on both exchanges.

Southern Palladium is a platinum group minerals (PMG) explorer and developer which has acquired a 70 per cent interest in the Bengwenyama Project in South Africa. The project has significant reserves of palladium/rhodium, minerals that are critical to the global transition to clean energy and transport.

Southern Palladium Director Rob Thomson described the Bengwenyama Project as a “Tier 1 major development opportunity in the making in the global PGM market”.

“This successful listing marks a crucial step forward in the evolution of the Bengwenyama, which we view as one of the most exciting PGM projects globally,” he said.

Led by Sanushka, the Thomson Geer team included Associate Kylie Zih, Lawyer Richard Gamayunov and Graduate Lawyer Isabella Maurici.

The lead manager to the IPO was Bridge Street Capital.
