Thomson Geer Senior Associate, Scott Newlan is the recipient of the WorkSafe Victoria Legal Panel Scholarship award for 2020.
WorkSafe Victoria’s Legal Panel encompasses a substantial number of talented lawyers across seven legal firms. Awarded to one lawyer every year in recognition of legal skill, integrity and service to WorkSafe Victoria and its stakeholders, the Legal Panel Scholarship Award is indicative of WorkSafe’s view that the recipient is a star performer and a future leader within the Victorian Worker’s Compensation Scheme.
The scholarship provides Scott with the opportunity to undertake further study that will not only elevate his professional capabilities, but elevate Thomson Geer’s overall service offering to WorkSafe Victoria.
This a significant achievement in any year, however in what has been a very challenging year, it is of special significance and a testament to Thomson Geer’s long held relationship with WorkSafe Victoria.
Thomson Geer Partners Nick Blayney and Bruce Crosthwaite have previously won the Scholarship in 2011 and 2013 respectively, accelerating the progression of their careers significantly.
When announcing Scott as the recipient of this award, Partner Chris Singleton said, “I am certainly proud of the great reflection this is on Scott’s work but also of what it says about the great work of our team and Thomson Geer in continuing to meet the challenges this year has posed”.
Congratulations to Scott and the WorkSafe Victoria team at Thomson Geer.
