Thomson Geer has helped ASX-listed packaging and recycling company PACT Group in its acquisition of Synergy Packaging from international packaging company Berry Global Group.
Thomson Geer assisted with all aspects of the transaction, including engagement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission which did not oppose the acquisition.
The deal enhances PACT’s ability to serve customers making wellness, pharmaceutical and personal care products. Synergy Packaging, based in Victoria, produces recyclable plastic packaging for small-medium sized businesses.
Berry Global Group is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is one of the world’s largest producers of plastic packaging.
Thomson Geer Partner Matthew Reynolds said: “This is a transformative deal for PACT Group which will see it increase its market offering to clients and new customers.
“Thomson Geer brought a range of skills and expertise to helping make this deal happen, including ensuring it met the requirements of regulators such as the ACCC,” Matt said.
The Thomson Geer team, led by Matt, included Senior Associate Belinda Pinnow, Lawyers Ashley Zhang and Nellie Clark-Boyce, and Partner Josh Simons.
