Cybersecurity training company divests APAC business to Tesserent Academy

Cybersecurity training firm ALC Group is being advised by Thomson Geer on the sale of its Asia Pacific training business to Tesserent Academy, a subsidiary of ASX-listed full service cybersecurity and cloud services provider Tesserent Ltd, for A$5.8 million.ALC is a leading provider of quality training for business and government, with public courses held in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand and in-house training conducted across the APAC region.Tesserent is establishing Tesserent Academy to improve the cyber talent ecosystem, playing an active role in developing talent and addressing the skills shortage in the sector.“The transaction recognises ALC’s pre-eminent position as a cybersecurity training provider in the APAC region,” said Thomson Geer Partner Eugene Fung, who is leading the team.‘With hacking and data privacy critical issues for business, governments and the general community, there is a growing need for training to ensure digital networks are protected.”The transaction provides Tesserent Academy with immediate access to substantial resources and access to new opportunities that will allow Tesserent Academy to continue strong growth in the key Cyber Security training market.The Thomson Geer team also includes Lawyer Jake Breydon.The sale is expected to complete in March 2023.
