Banyan Software acquires three Australian software firms with assistance from Thomson Geer

Thomson Geer has advised international investment company Banyan Software Inc on its acquisition of three Australian software companies as part of its buy-and-hold for life strategy of acquiring and growing software companies around the world.

Banyan acquired retail point-of-sale software companies Future Net Australia and Worldsmart and video streaming platform company Viostream.

Thomson Geer advised Banyan on all aspects of the transactions, including due diligence, negotiating the sale agreements, assignment of intellectual property, new leases and employment and consultancy agreements.

Banyan Software provides a permanent home for mission critical vertical market software companies around the world, where it acquires, supports and invests in the business’s growth.

Future Net and Worldsmart provide point-of-sales software to supermarkets, grocers and independent retail stores around Australia while Viostream provides a highly secured video streaming and hosting platform for enterprises.
