Roger has more than 25 years' experience in property, leasing, banking and finance and commercial law, ranging from complex legal issues to transactional work.

Roger acts for a variety of clients in each of these areas of law from large institutional entities (such as insurance companies and banks), property developers and joint venture partners to landlords and tenants of a variety of premises across Australia. He has significant expertise in: drafting and advising on loan and facility agreements and security documents; property transactions; and leasing documents for a variety of businesses and assets.

Having served on the boards of a number of companies and seconded for a number of years to a number of organisations, Roger has a unique insight on his client’s commercial and legal needs. His focus and strengths are to understand his client’s needs and outcome and work to achieve those goals for the client in a commercial, cost-effective, efficient and professional manner.

Luxury property development

Acting for a property developer in its acquisition (and off the plan sales of the completed development) of a brownfield developments site in St Leonards NSW involving multiple titles and with project value of $1.6 billion. The development is for a 700 + luxury residential apartment tower with 30000 square metres of commercial / retail areas (including a major supermarket).

Alexandria industrial park

Acting for a property developer in its acquisition of a greenfield site in Alexandria for the development of an industrial park which includes advising on the subdivision and acting on the off the plan sale of the units post completion.

Complex contract issues

Preparing a variety of contract documents and negotiating and settling the sale of a newly constructed golf course and the simultaneous purchase of a proposed residential development site. The property involved complex contract issues dealing with three independent parties and ensuring the transaction occurs contemporaneously.

Major university

Acting for a major University in its sale of its student accommodation property portfolio by public tender including managing, negotiating and advising on various parts of the sale transaction.

Lease agreement

Negotiating and settling an agreement for lease and lease for an insurance company for its Sydney head office (rental value over $150 million) which included contracts for the fitting out the premises and negotiating and settling the building contracts and side agreements.

Insurance companies

Acting for insurance companies in their upgrade and re-fit works in their office premises across Australia, including drafting and advising on the relevant works contracts and addressing the multitude of issues that arose during construction.
