Thomson Geer has advised one of Australia’s most acclaimed film special effects companies, Rising Sun Pictures on its acquisition by US based visual effects company, FuseFX.

Founded in 1995 in Adelaide South Australia, Rising Sun Pictures is an award-winning film visual effects business having worked on productions such as Ford V Ferrari, Spider-Man: Far From Home, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider and Game of Thrones.

Rising Sun Pictures acquisition by FuseFX represents the merger of two great teams, both bringing world-class expertise from their respective fields.

The sale of Rising Sun Pictures is a very significant milestone after its successful 25 year history. The sale to FuseFX allows Rising Sun Pictures to embark on an expansion plan, to position the business for global strategic growth as a leading international visual effects studio.

The move will allow Rising Sun Pictures to expand its offerings to clients with a broader range of skill sets, geographic locations and storytelling solutions.
