Eurocold partners with French refrigeration giant to boost expansion plans

February 9, 2024

Thomson Geer has advised Australian refrigerated truck company Eurocold Holdings and shareholders on the acquisition of a majority stake in the company by French refrigeration company Groupe Petit Forestier SAS.

The investment by Petit Forestier enabled Eurocold to complete its acquisition of Perth company DCG Rentals. It also strengthens Petit Forestier's position as a global refrigeration specialist, enabling it to generate 50 per cent of its vehicle rental business outside its French domestic market.

Eurocold was established in 2021 in South East Queensland and rapidly expanded to operate a fleet of 260 refrigerated vehicles across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.

Thomson Geer worked with Eurocold and its shareholders by providing strategic advice and planning for the transaction, drafting and negotiating sale documentation, and the acquisition of DCG Rentals.

The Thomson Geer team was led by Partner Philip Dowling who said: "We are pleased to have worked with Eurocold to enable it to partner with European giant Petit Forestier and share in their plans for global growth."

Philip was supported by Associate Jake Breydon.
